The Dallas Bach Society, 2010-2011, The Brandenburg Season

In 1721, Johann Sebastian Bach sent a collection of six instrumental concertos to Christian Ludwig, margrave of Brandenburg-Schwedt, accompanied by a dedication page in his best court French, in the hope that he might be offered a position at the Margrave’s court. These works are widely regarded as perhaps the finest set of musical compositions of the Baroque era. This year, the Dallas Bach Society, along with some of the most talented musicians in the United States, will perform the entire set over the course of the season.
