Al Ayre Español – Fabiana Gonzalez Sings Handel and the Spanish Baroque
26/27-Apr-13, 8pm, The third in our House Concert Series
Brilliant new mezzo-soprano Fabiana Gonzalez, who comes to Dallas from the Yale University program in Early Music, sings the music of Handel, including his Spanish cantata No se emendera jamas, as well as her specialty of Spanish Baroque music. We heard her in last year’s Baroque Christmas and she was fabulous!
Puerto Rican mezzo-soprano Fabiana González is quickly gaining attention throughout the United States for her “superb combination of tonal warmth and rhetorical directness” (San Francisco Chronicle). She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Performance from the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico in 2008 where she studied with Elizabeth Pacheco, Ilca López, Justino Díaz, and Pedro Juan Jiménez. In 2011 she completed a Masters of Music Degree in Early Music at the Yale School of Music and the Yale Institute of Sacred Music under the tutelage of James Taylor. She currently is pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts Degree at the University of North Texas as a student of Dr. Stephen Austin.
Two performances to choose from! Friday April 26, 2013 will be held in Flower Mound, TX and Saturday April 27, 2013 will be held in Dallas, TX.
